Fyne Foods

Our smoked salmon selection is produced from Wild Atlantic Salmon brood stock.
These ‘Native Strain’ salmon have been bred from wild eggs harvested from remote River and Loch Systems of Northern Scotland.

Native strain salmon represent a pure ancestral bloodline of Scottish wild salmon stretching back millennia. With superior tensile strength, a firmer texture and higher levels of Omega 3 than ordinary European salmon, only fish reared and harvested in Scotland achieve this superior quality.

NATURAL FEED BASKET

100% Responsibly Sourced Native Wild Brood Stock Salmon.

Our suppliers use a reliable, sustainable and fully traceable feed strategy which we believe is superior to any other salmon producer anywhere in the world. We aim for a ‘natural feed basket’ made from Fish Oil and Fish Meal content and our suppliers subscribe to the IFFO ‘100% responsibly sourced and 100% traceable’ protocols, using no Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) plant materials, steroids, hormones, Added Growth Promoters (AGPs) or synthetic colour pigments in the salmon feed.

HIGH QUALITY SMOKING

Our native strain Salmon are smoked to the highest quality by our multi-award winning partners at Loch Fyne Oysters. Nestled on the banks of Loch Fyne where the Scottish mountains meet the sea, Loch Fyne Smokehouse have upheld a name in quality and sustainability within the industry since being established in 1978.

Which lends to their philosophy in Gaelic of; ‘Nach urramach an cuan’

‘How worthy of honour is the sea’

Ode to Salmon

Long was the voyage that brought you back here
O’er sparklin’ oceans and up through the weir,
back to the quiet of where you were made
your mother and father once lay in the shade,
Oh creature resilient ,set down in the stream
a new generation to leap through their dream,
to wander in oceans afar from this place
and then to come home with the silver they grace,
to dispose of their treasure and share with the river
may you plunder the depths of the ocean forever.
